    Considering the fact that he was still able to have a huge hit with "kiss me through the phone" after he thanked the slave masters because we wouldn't be able to rock ice without them (possibly one of the dumbest comments ever made by a celeb), I doubt that this will have a serious impact upon his career. Always remember, the American double standard says that the "haves" can't demean the "have nots" i.e. Black people can make numerous comments about whites without coming under a large amount of scrutiny, but the inverse is completely untrue as I'm sure we've all seen. This is extremely unjust IMO, but I'm not the one that makes the rules, so I can't really change them either.
